Download the entire announcement Wyoming Energy Council Provides a Special Opportunity for Unique People to work for a non-profit organization committed to promoting and furthering the conservation of non-renewable energy resources and the development of renewable energy resources. What we do: We specialize in the conservation of energy through improving the energy efficiency of Wyoming's housing stock by performing retrofit work for low-income clients and by teaching professionals in the housing industry to do the same for their clients using an integrated, building-science based whole-house performance approach. Who we need: We seek people with creative judgment and respect and appreciation for our global resources and other human beings. The first and foremost requirement for success at Wyoming Energy Council (WEC) is attitude. Successful employees have a positive attitude and exhibit a willingness to learn. Independent investigation and acquisition of knowledge and understanding of the industry and associated terminology is essential. You must be an "on-your-feet" problem solver and solution finder who is willing to work through existing processes, document procedures, and engage in discussion and development of new and better processes. Office staff have a high-degree of personal responsibility and must be willing to make decisions and prioritize tasks with a minimum of supervision. There is frequent interaction with co-workers, so you must work and play well with others. Technical staff range from very autonomous and highly trained energy auditors to technicians who install and implement routine weatherization measures with some supervision. A construction background is helpful, but not essential. A willingness to dive in and do what needs to be done, regardless of title, status, or education is required of all WEC employees. Knowledge and the ability to perform successfully are valuable. Candidates with the right skill combination will be considered, even if you haven't received the precise formal education specified in the job description.
